Grapevine Studies Review

A few months ago, Emma and I worked our way through our very first Grapevine Studies Bible Study. For the past few weeks, Emma and I have been stick-figuring our way through the Old Testament 1: Level 3 Creation to Jacob study.

We are studying the Ancients in our history program right now, and I knew this Bible study would be the perfect study for use to work through right now.

Old Testament 1: Creation to Jacob

About Old Testament 1: Creation to Jacob

We received a digital copy of Old Testament 1: Level 3 Creation to Jacob. We received the student book and teacher manual. This program is designed for use by students ages 10-12.

The student book is 67 pages long. It consists of 12 weekly lessons or 45 daily ones. The student book contains lessons, timelines, maps, memory verses, and review pages. The lessons cover the following Old Testament Bible stories:

  • Creation, Adam and Eve, The Fall, Noah and the Flood, and the Tower of Babel
  • Job, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

The teacher’s manual is designed to be used with levels 3 & 4 of this study. It’s 98 pages long, and contains notes about each lesson, timelines, suggested stick figure drawings, maps, goals, memory verses, review questions and answers.

How We Used Old Testament 1: Creation to Jacob

This program isn’t meant to be used as an independent Bible study, and I’m glad. I enjoy going through these lessons with Emma. I learn as much as she does. The teacher’s guide is easy to use and simple to follow as is the student text.

Each lesson follows the same basic routine. On Day 1, we go over the timeline together. On Day 2, we cover lesson 1 and on Day 3, we cover lesson 2. On day 4, Emma completed the student drawing pages.

 Our Thoughts About Grapevine Studies

We’ve read the Old Testament Bible Stories in our kids’ Bibles, and we’ve dug a little deeper with our history book. But, GrapeVine has allowed us to really dig in and study these stories on a whole new level.

This isn’t our first Bible study from GrapeVine Studies, and it certainly won’t be our last. We really like them, and we learn a lot from them. They are so easy to use that they’re a great go-to for our family Bible studies.

More information about GrapeVine Studies

GrapeVine Studies offers 6 levels covering preschool through middle school. Both of the lower level books offer traceable pages so the students can participate without having to be able to draw the stick figures themselves. The upper four levels offer increasing levels of difficulty and information. Level 1 introduces the timeline. Level 2 adds in additional memory work. Level 3 introduces geography, and Level 4 introduces learners to basic Bible study tools.
